Strip Curtain Sizing Guide
Size a PVC strip curtain (strip door) for any doorway — coolers, freezers, dock doors and pass-throughs. Enter the door opening and traffic type; we match curtain kits whose rated opening covers your door, with the right strip width for what passes through it.
Strip curtain sizing rules
- Coverage: the curtain's rated opening must be at least your door's width and height — strips should reach the floor and mount above the header.
- Strip width: 6–8" for foot traffic, 8–12" for carts and pallet jacks, 12–16" for forklift doors. Wider, heavier strips reseal faster behind vehicles.
- Overlap: standard overlap suits temperature separation; full overlap (each strip overlapping both neighbors) for freezers and high wind/pressure differentials.
- Temperature: standard PVC to −10°F; use low-temp freezer-grade PVC below that so strips stay flexible.
