How lift table sizing works
- Capacity: take your heaviest expected load and add 25%. Off-center loads, rolling loads (drums, carts) and end-loading all reduce a table's effective rating — the margin covers them.
- Platform size: the platform should fully support the load footprint. Overhang reduces capacity and stability; when in doubt, size up.
- Travel: raised height must reach your highest working surface; lowered height must accept your loading method (pallet jack loading needs a low-profile or pit-mounted table).
- Duty cycle: above ~20 lifts/hour, choose electric-hydraulic over manual — foot pumps are rated for occasional positioning, not production throughput.
